Mini Readathon: This is the End

I'm not much of a Doors fan now that I'm, y'know, out of high school and all, but I'm pretty sure that right before I die, I'll hear Jim Morrison's otherworldly voice intoning, "this is the end, my only friends... the end..."

Some things just stay with you.

LIKE THIS READATHON.

I am so good at segues.*
Did you eat lots of things and read lots of books? I think you must have, because after about... 3 hours in, we all sort of disappeared off of the Twitter except for the occasional check in. Good work actually reading, us! I suspect my extraordinary focus was based on 1) my awesome leadership skills, 2) a few key rabblerousers having alternative plans today (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), and 3) on the brilliance of Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park, the finishing of which is why this wrap-up post is late.

Since the last post, I have eaten a bunch of baby carrots and mini peppers (smothered in ranch)

and a lot of some candy, the mini-bag of Doritos (which was exactly the right amount of Doritos), and some fancy Norwegian cheese.

Pages Read: 449 (+ 45 minutes-worth of audiobook pages, however many that is)
Hose Elf Hats knitted: 1
Snacks Consumed: lots

Overall? Let's do this again in 6-ish months! I feel like I'm really getting the hang of this binge-reading thing!

*Yes I stole this GIF straight from Alice and I am delighted to have the chance to use it so soon.

HEY EVERYBO--shit.
WE MISSED YOU GUYS ON TWITTER. I had to actually read pages.
I WILL BE THERE FOR THE NEXT ONE BECAUSE IT IS MY FAVORITE READATHON AND WE'LL MAKE MEGS DO IT TOO AND IT WILL BE EVEN FUNNER THAN THIS ONE (because we will be there, you see)

YES I APPROVE OF ALL OF THIS. Also we will start earlier because you guys are WHINERS (but correct).
I believe it is you in California YOU who are the whiners.
Oh no. We slept in and didn't have to wait for anyone, so there was no whining on OUR end! (Just wait till the next Dewey's readathon comes around. I'll whine plenty.)
I MEANT WHINING ABOUT NOT STARTING EARLIER
Who was doing that? NOT ME, because I didn't roll out of bed until 9:05. My cat is my witness. (Getting up is the worst part of my day.)
I am CLEARLY not being clear. Because I am referring to our twitter discussion of yesterday when SOMEbody didn't want CA to start earlier.
449 pages is so impressive! I would have read more only, you know, sleep is awesome (I SLEPT SO WELL. I'm going to say that was down to you, somehow...)

Thank youuuuu for hosting Tika, you are most gracious and wondrous :). And YAY ANOTHER ONE! I shall stock up on the snacks now, then I'll totally be ready for it :)

Welllll 449 pages because I finished E&P after the 8 hours was over. I read quickly but not always... carefully. This is probably why I don't do well with LOTR; I read too fast and then I can't figure out whether I'm supposed to be afraid of Saruman or Sauron, or which chick with a name that starts with "A" is the heroine? (hahahhaha that's a joke because there are no female heroines in Tolkein *grumble grumble*.)
Oh man this mini-readathon sounded super productive (FACT ranch and faux healthy snacks make reading 68.53% better, along with making up statistics). I'll stay tuned for the next one!

Yes, do! We have missed you on the internets, lady!

I should eat more vegetables. And exercise more. But I probably won't.
This was so great, Tika! And delaying posting in favour of E&P is the absolute right choice. Thank you for hosting! Can't wait for the next one.
